The official launch and speech

Cr Barb Alexander, our Mayor makes the introductory speech and introduces Dr Bruce Pennay from Charles Sturt Uni in Albury, where the Bonegilla Migrant Processing Centre is.

A most interesting speech about Benalla's role  in the post-war migration scheme.  Dr Pennay's work  can be downloaded from the Bonegilla website.



My speech comes from the heart ' we need a memory place for the Benalla Migrant Camp'.
