Tourist boats on the Oder.
Pierogge for dinner, they are filled Polish dumplings - these ones were fried and too rich in my opinion but worth a try.
These little boxes sell food, drink and cigarettes and are sprinkled around the city.
Colour can certainly brighten up some of the communist era apartment blocks.
We loved the polish interpretation of selected English words like...
The Wroclaw Food and Flower Market.
A colourful section of the market.
We could not believe the choice of mushrooms ...
A mix of communist style buildings and the charm of the older era.
.... Well, we have arrived in Poland. We are loving it; it is daggy, cheap, dodgy and fun. The people are eccentric and such a mix. There are people approaching you in the street (if you look like a tourist, which we do) to do a small service for money. The weather is fabulous, warm and clear skies. The food is an adventure - savoury buffet for breakfast, which we ate on tables and chairs near the river Oder. We are staying in the Hotel Tumski. Tomorrow it is off in the hire car, along the route mapped out with Manfred.
