My birthday on the Oslo to Bergen Train

We ended up purchasing a 4 day journey called 'Norway in a Nutshell' incorporating train, bus and fjord cruise. The journey began in Oslo and ended at Flam, on the shores of the first Fjord, on Day 1 which happened to be my birthday - fancy that. The train journey between Oslo and Bergen is supposedly one of the most beautiful train journeys in the whole world.

Changing from the modern Oslo Train into the historic 'Flam Bana' which travels steeply down the hill - about 20 degree decline right down to the fjord way below.

Suddently a mystic figure appeared before the waterfall and sung for us = it was well done - I liked it ... but maybe it was my birthday mood that I thought it was so nice.

we arrive in Flam, our ferry leaving at 9 am the next morning means we've got time for dinner and a birthday drink at the pier.
