Positano on the Amalfi Coast

ah the colours, I am having great fun taking photos

watch the scooters, they seem to always be in a rush to get down the hill

a bit of OHS concern there, but not too much

after 390 steps (victor counted) we reached the spiaggia/beach Fornillo - and then we went for a swim in the Mediterranean - all of us, it was lovely - photos are on Gina and Victor's camera

Victor could not resist the man shirt made of cool linene

more colour

Positano is watched over by tall, rocky mountains straight behind.
Nothing in Positano can be reached without going steeply up or down the hill, usually via hundreds of stairs. Nothing for people with dicky knees!!!

a first selfie

First night dinner with a fabulous view
We arrived by plane from Cologne/Bonn in Naples. Then we were picked up by Gennarro, the nephew of Carlo, our host in the Maria Luisa. This pensione was listed as top value for money choice in the Lonely Planet, and by the time we left we loved it. When we first arrived, we found it a bit rough around the edges. Nothing a Limoncello could not fix anyway!!!

The breakfast room, which we hardly ever used - it was too hot! Noone knows air conditioning in Positano!

ah but the views are unique just the same

Host Carlo served us his home brewed Limoncello on arrival - a refreshing local liqueur made of lemon peel.

Lovely sundeck - we had it to ourselves the whole time.
Nothing like a cold drink on a hot day.

Particularly stunning at night, with the lights over the bay.

Here is Carlo, a really nice and jolly guy.
